Anagārika Dharmapāla was a Sri Lankan Buddhist revivalist and writer. He was the first global Buddhist missionary. He was one of the founding contributors to non-violent Sinhalese Buddhist nationalism and a leading figure in the Sri Lankan independence movement against British rule.
